SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
*"For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off"* (Proverbs 23:18).
Beloved, there’s more about you than the eyes can see; which means that it does not matter what you have achieved and yet to achieve, your best days are yet to come. God’s ultimate desire for you is that you do well in your endeavours because, He takes pleasure in your success. *"...let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant"* (Psalm 35:27). God expects the radiance of your life to keep increasing. Proverbs 4:18 says, *"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day".* By your nature, indwelled by the Holy spirit, God has made you His display window for showing the world what He has accomplished already in CHRiSt. *"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; THAT YE SHOULD SHEW FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light"* (1 Peter 2:9). The greatest barrier to living in God's best isn't demons or witchcraft powers but our mind - our state of naturalness. That is why Paul writing to the Corithians said, *"But the natural man recieveth not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”* (1Corin. 2:14).
The Bible states in clear terms that the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit. Being natural implies to think normal as a human being should, that is, analytically employing your normal human faculties. Spiritually minded can only happen by allowing the word of God take it's rightful place in your life. Accessing God’s best doesn’t happen accidentally or automatically; you have to know what's available and start pursuing it. Philemon 1:6 says, *"That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus".* The word "acknowledging" is the Greek: "epignรณsis"; it refers to recognition, accurate and precise knowledge. The believer needs this kind of knowledge to thrive in life. Luke 16:16 says, *"The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it".* The word "presseth" in the above text is the Greek: "biazรณ"; it implies to force your way hence, if we desire the best, we must raise our sights and aim higher. And such attitude is missing in the lives of far too many Christians.
Some believers are told that something is wrong with them, so they live their entire lives struggling and expecting evil. These folks don't know God's word because, when God's word is not rightly divided, believers will remain spiritual babies, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine (teaching), by the slieght of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive (Eph 4:14). Nobody learns how to receive God’s best overnight; it’s a process, but we need to begin moving in that direction by growing up spiritually. If you don’t stir yourself up, you will settle to the bottom. The world isn’t going to encourage you toward God’s best, and most Christians aren’t either.
Many are living below God's best because of the feelings of rejection. Rejection is a powerful weapon against our self-worth; it can breed thoughts of inadequacy, hopelessness, anger, bitterness, fear and depression. It affects how we even see God. Each time we feel a rejection, the potential for doubt and unbelief increases. This same attitude we often carry into our relationship with God, as a result it is difficult if not impossible to enjoy a loving, trusting relationship with the Father and to live the best life He has provided for us in CHRiSt. But in Ephesians 1, Paul declared that God has blessed us (v.3), He has chosen us to be without blame before Him in love (v.4), He has predetermined that we are sons and daughters in His family (not slaves or orphans) (v.5), and by grace He has made us accepted! (v.6) The Greek meaning of the word "accepted" is: to make graceful, charming, lovely, agreeable, to surround with favour and to honour with blessings. If you accept these realities, then you're on your way to enjoying a fruitful relationship with the Father which will translate into having the best in your life. Grace is God’s supply for every need you have; it is His blessings, sufficiency and strength made available to us in CHRiSt Jesus. It is God’s divine provision for every level of our life.
