WHY MUST I GIVE MY FIRST FRUIT?

Honour the lord with thy substance, and with the first fruit of all thine increase: so shall thy barn be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10).

The first fruit offering is to God a way of demonstrating the principle of putting God first in all things. To many, they think the first fruit is same as tithe. That is not true at all.
The first fruit is the first of our income and should be the best – you do not remove from it – you are to give all of it. While the tithe is a tenth of your income (Ex. 34:26; Lev. 23:9-10; Pr. 3:9-10; Lev. 27:26-27, 30-33).
*While the tithe applied to all forms of produce in the bible whether flock or plant – first fruit also applied to first born child of man consecrated unto God. There is something holy & special about the first, that’s why some had to be given the right of the first born. (Ex. 34:19-20; Num. 18:13-15).
*God went after Pharaoh & Egypt because Jacob was his first born, he was consecrated unto Him. Ex. 4:22-23.
First fruit was revealed before tithe in the bible (Gen. 4:1-4).
*It is holy and consecrated unto God (Rom. 11:16).
*It is the best quality Num. 18:12-13.
*It is given in whole not in part – Deut. 26:2.
*You don’t postpone giving your first fruit. Ex. 22:29.
*It is given with the attitude of thanksgiving (2 Cor. 9:7).
But why give the first fruit?
      1. We are commanded to give Pr. 3:9-10.
      2. By giving our first fruit. We secure & sanctify the rest of the harvest. Rom. 11:16.
      3. We give that the blessing of the lord may rest upon us Ex. 44:30.
      4. By giving we are demonstrating to God our appreciation for all He has done in our life. Deut. 26:10-11.
      5. It releases the anointing upon our life – Pr. 3:9.
      6. If you don’t give God, God will come after it because it belongs to Him Ex. 4:22-23.
       7. When you hold back your first fruit, you expose yourself to danger – Jer. 2:3.

Who should receive it?
      1. It should be taken to the house of God. Deut. 26:1-4.
      2. The priest should receive it. Neh. 10:33-37.
      3. The priest receives it & proclaims the blessing upon the giver. Ex. 44:30.

Your giving establishes your righteousness; it characterizes you. We give our first fruit celebrating in anticipation to what he will do.

WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
We believe there is a void in every person that only a relationship with God can fill. We’re not referring to finding religion or joining a particular church we are referring to having a relationship with your heavenly father through his son Jesus Christ. We believe that knowing him is the source of true peace and fulfillment in life we encourage you to pray thus: Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose from the dead I hereby confess you as my lord and savior. I receive the life of God into my spirit and now am born again.
Thank you lord jesus for the new life I have now in you. In Jesus name – amen.
