WEDNESDAY 23RD JUNE, 2021 

TOPIC: CULTIVATING THE KINGDOM CULTURE 2

*Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery* 

(1 Timothy 4:13 -14)

        Your reaction to challenges and adversities in life depends on how richly the word of God is deposited in your Spirit. Apostle Paul speaking said, *Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom….*  (Colossians 3:16). So making the word of God your only option-your focus and meditation is the only way to keep living the kingdom way. If the word isn’t dwelling in you richly, your response would be from your head, and out of fear; and that wouldn’t work. That is why as believers, we must never stay away from teaching services in the local church. When the word of God is precisely and accurately taught, the believer will be exposed to proper spiritual upbringing.

        When the believer is taught the word and keeps learning the it, he will be able to see through the word, understand by the word, reason by the word and his mind will be renewed by the word. When a situation arises, and you’ve programmed yourself through the years with the word, you’d be in charge, regardless of how bad it seems. This is because you have the knowledge that you’re an associate of the God-kind, an offspring of God, with the divine nature. The word of God that you’ve imbibed which has gained ascendency in the spirit, is what puts you over in the face of challenging situations. That is why you must  consciously meditate on the word; so it’s not only in your head, but settled in your heart, permeating every fibre of your being. When the word is in your heart the result is that you’d speak it forth, because the word of God says, from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

        Godliness is the believer’s aura and culture; godliness means piety or piousness; its key to good Christian living. Godly reference is a divine quality that should be easily noticeable in you as a Christian. God expects every one of His child to handle themselves in a godly manner. Though this culture is a product of the spirit of God in the believer, he is not under duress to take or add godliness to his character because God does not Coerce people. The Holy Spirit through the word of God is the one to bring to the believer the reality of this culture. When he yields, he will find himself encapsulated in his character and it begins to manifest in his life naturally.

        According to our theme text, it is when we give attendance to instructions, corrections and rebukes that we can stay godly, manifesting the lifestyle of the Kingdom. Paul revealed signs of ungodliness in 2 Timothy 3:2-8;  He spoke about men becoming lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, disobedient etc. the Kingdom of God has principles to live by and we must deliberately live by them. There are places you shouldn’t be found in; words you shouldn't say, and things that shouldn't be found in  your character. We must allow the word of God to perfect your understanding and perception of Christ life.
