SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

GOOD MORNING

SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MONDAY 16TH NOVEMBER, 2020
TOPIC: UNBROKEN, UNHINDERED, UNMOLESTED 4

“ *And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations … Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world* ”
(Matthew 28:18-20)

The authority Jesus was referring to is the authority of salvation – the authority of the resurrection. This explains why Peter said, “ *Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”* (Acts 4:12). That is the authority – why Jesus died and was raised from the dead; the authority to preach, teach and make disciples. The word “ *teach* ” in verse 19 of our theme text was translated from the Greek word “Mateteo” and it means to make men students.
The phrase ‘ *teaching them* ’ in verse 20 was translated from a word that means to *instruct and teach;* the word ‘ *observe* ’ was translated from a word that is used for *keeping a watch over something with vigilance* . In other word, our teaching should be focused on all that Jesus has accomplished. And when He said, Lo, I am with you always; “ *He was referring to the indwelling of the spirit in the saints”.*
To avoid being  tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; the believer must become a student of the word. By this, our discernment would be sharpened to tell the difference between what is right and what is ‘ *nearly* ’ right. It is only by having or becoming acquainted with the precise knowledge of all we’ve become in Christ. As believers, our Christian walk will only be effective to the degree of accurate and precise knowledge of God’s word.
It is true that we can live our lives unbroken, unhindered and unmolested; we can be at the top of our game always; we can live the glorious life, we are called into. But unfortunately many are down and broken because they lack a precise and accurate knowledge of God’s word hence their minds keep moving to and fro; they’re not really sure of who they have become in Christ. That is why the local Church is a teaching center where believers are subjected to learning and grooming in the word of God.
The transforming power of the word of God is what will keep you afloat in times of crises. This is because there’s an awareness and set of principles that you function with. The believer is not exempted from troubles but by the word of God he is programmed to overcome and not to be overwhelmed by circumstances. “… *when the enemy shall come like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against it ”* (Isaiah 59:19).
The point I am making is that to stay afloat in life, there’s a training and a grooming that your mind requires. Such training and grooming is in the word of His grace.

*PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of Christ I receive in your word. I am rooted and established in your word, in Jesus name – Amen.*
