SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

GOOD MORNING

SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY, 2021
TOPIC: DOCTRINE OF DELIVERANCE 2

*Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world* (1 John 4:4)

There are basic informations that the believer shouldn’t be deprived of; hence, every believer must be aware of the fact that the redemptive work of Christ is what saves from sin and further changes our identity. By implication, it means as  believers, we now have new descriptions by God. The believer must be completely furnished about the provisions of the gospel which has become his present hour reality. And he ought to acknowledge these realities therein. Once someone hears and believes the gospel, he automatically receives forgiveness and remission of sin (Romans 10:13-14); and subsequently, all that Jesus has accomplished in His sacrificial, redemptive work becomes his.
Deliverance in the New Testament is the Greek word *Aphesis* which means *freedom, pardon, forgiveness, liberty and remission.* It means to snatch away from danger; and this  deliverance  is obtained by believing the gospel of Christ. So by implication, deliverance in the New Testament refers to salvation.
According to our theme verse, the believer is of God – sourced from God. He came out of God which means that his beginning is God. He has been delivered from the power of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear son. But due to ignorance, some believers can be oppressed by satan; however, the answer to such is for that believer to be taught, to the intent that he fully acknowledges who he is and what he has been made in Christ presently. This will enable him exercise his authority in Christ and say “No” to satan’s manipulations. The fact is that the born again child of God is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). He is a new man found in Christ, seated with Him in heavenly places. He is not like the first Adam, but He is a man in Christ. IN CHRIST means that  the believer is in union with God hence, he does not need deliverance from satan. There’s a difference between casting out demons and deliverance; demons are defeated elements and no regard should be given to them. Every believer is entitled to cast demons out –but not in another believer because, the believer is sealed with the Holy spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13).
Demons and the spirit of God cannot coexist in the believer.
So creating a ministry called *ministry of deliverance* is wrong. It is unfounded in scriptures. Stop seeking deliverance everywhere, rather seek knowledge to be established in the truth about your new identity in Christ. Satan is under your feet, so don’t allow him occupy any other position in your life. Resist him and he will flee.
