SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

GOOD MORNING

SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FRIDAY 16TH JULY, 2021
TOPIC: DOCTRINE OF DELIVERANCE 4

*Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of this world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power*
(Colossians 2:8-10)

Revealed knowledge is very important in the life of the man in Christ. This is because, without it, the believer will definitely find it difficult to navigate his ways in life or living in the will and purpose of God. Unfortunately, there is lack of revealed knowledge in most believers today simply because, the pastors in the local assemblies who are saddled with the responsibility of nurturing believers are not doing their work. The primary assignment of the pastor is to feed and nurture new believers to maturity. Where there's lack of proper teaching or the induction of right doctrine, believers cannot live in the consciousness of whom they have become in Christ. One reality is the fact that one cannot practice Christianity without revelation – right revelation of Christ. This implies that if a particular  knowledge about something is not revealed, one will lack understanding in that direction and the outcome is that whatever might be the benefit from that particular thing will elude the Christian in question.
It is a fact that every real father desires to reproduce himself in his children; and  the new creature received the nature and life of the Father at salvation. The Greek word translated  *fullness* in our theme text is the word  *pleroma* meaning repletion or completion. In other words, it means that Jesus carries God in human form and the believer is complete in Him. At salvation, the Holy Spirit made our body His abode; we are sealed with the Holy spirit as the scripture says, *In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of salvation: in who also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy spirit of promise*(Ephesians 1:13). Hence, the believer’s nature and essence is not a making of circumstances that the devil can touch at all because, he is a product of the spirit of Christ.
Therefore if you ask me whether a believer can be demon possessed, I will say emphatically No!.  Demonic possession implies the person has a demon inside of him; and the fact is that demons and the spirit of God cannot co-exist in the believer. There’s no such example in the epistles of demons being cast out of a man in Christ. No doubt, a believer can be demon oppressed but not demon possessed. And oppression occurs by the person’s consent and will; and the outcome is normally noticed in the control of the person’s habit or conduct. This is where you see a lack of control or restrain over the things the person likes. It can be insatiable appetite for money, alcohol etc.
You must be very careful what you hear because a lot of people come up with all kinds of weird unscriptural stories  about demonic possession. It's funny to even hear some people say cobwebs are signs of demonic possession! How? Cobweb has no spiritual relevance and are found in dirty places. Satan has been spoiled by Jesus but he only arms himself by the ignorance of people. Every believer has authority to cast out demons even if you were born again a minute ago. We are superior to satan by our placement in Christ.

*PRAYER: I affirm that I am aware of my placement in Christ, hence I win always. Glory*!
