GOOD MORNING

SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SATURDAY 10TH JULY, 2021
TOPIC: SEEKERS OF KNOWLEDGE

“ *For it is good and acceptable in the sight of God our saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and come unto the knowledge of the truth*”
    (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

The scripture speaking of Jesus at twelve years says; “ *And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions*” (Luke 2:46). This shows that Jesus at a very early age understood the importance of knowledge and sought after it. And the result was that  “ *… Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man*” (Luke 2::52).
After salvation, one of the very first desire in you ought to be deep hunger and pursuit for knowledge (knowledge of the revelation of Christ). When this is the case, all you'll want to do is to know more and more about Christ. And you’ll be all out to maximize every opportunity that comes your way to hear the word of God because you don’t want to miss out of anything.
Beloved, there's a learning of Christ required of every believer in order to fully comprehend and function in the reality of the finished work of Christ. This is because satan hides in the darkness of the believer’s ignorance to perpetuate evil. The darker it is with a believer, the stronger Satan’s dominion over that life. For such believer, though he is born again, he will most often function with his senses; to overcome the domination of the senses, he must be constantly exposed to precise, accurate and comprehensive knowledge of the word of God (Greek: epignosis). You must understand that you do not know God by your feeling or sight, but by His word.
Now, the undeniable weight of this fact stands out as usual, because the believer can never be more efficient in his Christian experience than he is in his understanding of the scriptures. That is why in his letters to the churches, Apostle Paul consistently prayed for the full compression of their identity in Christ. (Ephesians 1:15-19; 3:14-20; Philippians 1:9-10; Colossians 1:9-10). The truth is that when a believer lacks a precise understanding, full recognition of who he is in Christ; what he has in Christ and what Christ can do through him, he will remain a child (immature, undeveloped) tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14).
The Bible says, it is fools that hate knowledge (Proverbs 1:22-23). The Bible also says, “ *A wise man will hear and increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels*” (Proverbs 1:5).   It is in receiving instructions, corrections, rebukes and inspiration that you grow spiritually and this is the primary assignment of the four ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists and Shepherding teachers in the local church.( Ephesians 4:8-14) No wonder the devil does his best to keep the believer from teaching meetings; he keeps him from God’s knowledge in order to keep him in bondage. You must make up your mind to be an ardent seeker of knowledge, because that's the only way you can keep the devil where he belongs.

*PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for always stirring in my spirit, the hunger for your word, in Jesus name – Amen*.
