SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: CELEBRATING WHO YOU’RE IN CHRIST 4

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9)
2 Corinthians 1: 20 says, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”. It explains or affirms that all the prophecies of God in the old testaments has been fulfilled in Christ including the promise of the spirit. When God by His spirit spoke through the prophet Ezekiel saying, “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk I my status, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them” (Ezekiel 36:27) He was referring to the emergences of a new race of beings whom by the force of regeneration will be given the capacity to carry the spirit within.
The promise of the spirit in the four Gospels pointed to a “residence” and “permanence” which actually speaks of the new birth (John 16:16-17). In the epistles, “The spirit within” is the vocal point from which the giving of the spirit and our reception of the same is explained. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) “In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the spirit” (Ephesians 2:22).
Thus, the indwelling of the spirit is a reality in the man in Christ. At the instant of salvation, we receive the spirit and this implies that the indwelling of the spirit is the spirit living in you, not a temporal experience but he stays in you permanently. Therefore, it will be a misnomer for the believer to assume that he is without the spirit at any given time.
It is the spirit that enables you do the unthinkable, seeing possibility where others are seeing impossibility. God speaking of Caleb and his faith had this to say, “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land….” (Numbers 14:24).So what stood out Caleb and Joshua from the rest of the ten was the spirit upon them. They didn’t have the spirit in them because in the Old Testament, none was born again. So you carry God on your inside, hence nothing can successfully hinder you from achieving your goals.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for your spirit and word that works mightily in me, giving me a mindset of a victor, in Jesus name – Amen.

WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
We believe there is a void in every person that only a relationship with God can fill. We’re not referring to finding religion or joining a particular church we are referring to having a relationship with your heavenly father through his son Jesus Christ. We believe that knowing him is the source of true peace and fulfillment in life we encourage you to pray thus: Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose from the dead I hereby confess you as my lord and savior. I receive the life of God into my spirit and now am born again.
Thank you lord Jesus for the new life I have now in you. In Jesus name – amen.
