January 31. “and he came to nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stoop up for to read” (luke 4:16) This year, one area of your life you must guard jealously is fellowship in the house of God. From my personal observation, I have come to discover that most believers are not growing spiritually because they exempt themselves from cooperate fellowship. The fall in vital areas of your life is as result of the corruption of your worship with God. To win the battle in every other area of your life, you must win the battle of fellowship. Christian commitment is very important, and one way to demonstrate it is by attending church services regularly. People will only affirm that you’re a Christian when they observe that you’re consistent in attending church services and other special programmes organized by your local assembly. David so loved God that whenever it was to go to church, he will be so excited...

Jenuary 30. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58) The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is a Gospel of light. No wonder Jesus rightly declared that those who follow Him shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). Jesus’ statement in that verse of the scripture is very instructive as it provides us with an understanding of the benefits of walking with Him or following Him. To have His light is to believe and do his word; that’s how to follow. You cannot say you’re following Him when you don’t believe and do His word. When you believe and you’re addicted to doing His word, you can never be stranded or confuse in life; you c...

January 29. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11) The life that we’ve been called to live in Christ is the transcendent life. It is a life that’s far removed from failure and defeat. It is a life in the word of God. To manifest the glory and splendor of this life, the word of God should become an integral part of us; what we live by. At salvation, we became associates of the God-kind; we’re joint heirs with Christ. Why then should any Christian suffer defeat and pain? The problem is that we’ve not given the word of God its proper place in our lives. God gave us His word to live by. His word is the revelation of His will, nature and character an...

Monday 28. “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder” (Matthew 26:36). According to our theme verse, we see Jesus doing the needful in preparation for the task ahead of Him. It was in the place of prayer at Gethsemane that he settled the painful task of the cross for the redemption of mankind. The Lord Jesus made it clear that man ought always to pray and not give up (Luke 18:1). If the Lord expects us to pray often, it means there’re benefits we can expect to receive when we pray. As we begin the year 2019, bearing in mind that God expects us to accomplish so much, prayer preparation is vital because it is what precedes glorious manifestations. So you don’t have to carelessly venture into any project of yours; don’t make that choice, don’t take that decision, don’t start that business until you’ve taken out time to pray in the Holy Ghost. You can ...

January 27. “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray younder” (Matthew 26: 36) When you understand the importance and higher purposes of prayer, you’ll always be willing to pray. It is very important for every believer to spend time to pray with, or in, the spirit; that is praying in tongues. That is how to prepare yourself for what is ahead. For you to start 2019 well and also end it on a glorious note, it must be in the place of prayer. One of the beautiful things the Holy spirit has done in our lives as God’s children is to give us the ability to speak in other tongues. In John 16:13, Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself...

Friday 25. “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries” (1 Corinthians 16:9) Some Christians find themselves in certain situations, and respond in fear. Even though they might decide to pray, at such times, its usually out of fear and such response cant produce desired result. But as a child of God, when trouble strikes, refuse to fear, remember who you are and speak as the righteousness of God in Christ. You must not become frantic no matter what the devil brings against you; respond with the word of God. The Bible says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” (Colossians 3:16). When you’re full of the word, fear cannot have a place in your heart. Courage is one of the forces for progress, if you desire progress you must be courageous. The mission of courage is to e...

Thursday 24. “Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears; FOR THY WORK SHALL BE REWARDED, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy” (Jeremiah 31:16) As a child of God you have the divine nature of God within your spirit which is the enabling factor for success. Greatness is therefore an inherent part of your spirit; you posses capacity for excellence and you can perform in an outstanding proportion. The seed of God’s word is a success – guaranteeing seed, and you are a product of the word. But to get to the very top, in your calling, you need consistency. Those who are consistent in their pursuit are the only people qualified for reward from the Lord. But inconsistent fellows, murmurers and complainers will never attract good reward. A reward is a thing...

Wednesday 23. “Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, self control, devotion to God” (2 Peter 1:5-6 CEV) In Romans 12:1-2, Apostle Paul speaking said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye, present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”.By implication, it means that God recommends that our bodies should become channels for expressing the power of God; our bodies should  act as God’s display unit for His glory. But you see, our bodies lack the capacity to lead itself hence God designed it to be led and not to lead. The potential in a man’s spirit is mismanage when he allows his body to dictate what he should do at any time. The glory that should have been revealed will be hidden. ...

Tuesday 22. “You must submit (and) endure (correction) for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his Father does not (thus) train (and) correct (and) discipline?” (Hebrews 12:7 AMP) 2 Timothy 2:3-5 is very instructive as it concerns the believer and discipline. It says; “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warethentangleth himself with the affirms of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries; yet is he nor crowned, except he strives lawfully .” It means that when you became born again, you were enrolled as a soldier in God’s army. And being a part of God’s army places huge demand on you, when you understand this, you’ll realize that you are called to a life of spiritual discipline. The word of God is supposed to be your mirror for making continuous adjustments in your life. The future you desire as  a person wouldn’t be p...

January 21.   “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” (Proverbs 22:29) The reason why most believers are stagnated for a long time in their lives is because they lack the factor of diligence. The testimony of Jacobs’s outstanding success in the house of Laban was made possible by the factor of diligence. His testimony confirms that diligence in service is key to enforcing outstanding success. “And he said unto him, thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me. For it was little which thou hadst before I came, an it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine won house also?”(Genesis 30:29-30). It means that increase, promotion and outstanding success is not just a function of location or connection but a product of diligent labour and work. There is no way you deploy your energy for purposeful impact; there’...

January 19. “And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great” (Genesis 26:13) Child of God, your journey this year has been ordained only in one direction – upward and forward. This is exactly the way God has called you to live your life. He wants your life to be that of progressand advancement – not in theory but practically. It means that at the end of this year, success will be evidently seen in every area of your life. This is because as a joint heir with Christ, you have the nature to be absolutely successful. You must therefore make up your mind to develop a consciousness – a mentality that’s consistent with your personality in Christ. Bible says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). So, you must refuse thoughts of failure occupy your heart bec...

January 16. “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up”… (Job 22:29) Psalm 105:37 that says, “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feable person among their tribe”,  is a prove of the fact that as a child of God, you will not end this year without achieving great things. It is a proveof the fact that God keeps to His word and everyone who abandons himself to God’s word can never be weak or feeble in any area of his life. This therefore affirms that this year will be a remarkable one for God’s children who will endeavor to live by the word of God. When you live by God’s word, your path will be brighter and you will live in joy. The enemy may chose to attack you from all sides but your confidence should be in God’s word because He has said that: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken (Psalm 34:19-20)”. This is th...

January 17. “But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves”  (James 1:22) There’s a picture painted in the book of Habakkuk 3:17-19 that’s very instructive, it says, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom; neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation”. You’ve got to understand that if you’re a child of God, you are not a victim! The prophet in the above verses of the scripture describes a dire situation, yet he chosed to rejoice in the Lord all the same. It shows that even though there was a matter, the prophet wasn’t moved by what he saw, felt or perceived. I’m often amazed of how some believers easily give up and succumb to life’s issues. Also there’s  so much negative information in the world today, and this has instill...

January 15. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, or persecution, or farmine, or nakedness or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-37). The basic truths from our theme verses are that we can not walk alone – we’re in Him Justified and He’s in us glorified. It is called “Identification” which is a product of Christ’s substitutionary work on the cross. It means that the new creation is a stranger to evil. Via the love of God, what Jesus accomplished through His redemptive work provides a shield against every possible evil or circumstance that can be imagined now or in the future. It therefore means that you cannot be a victim of evil because being a victim is alien to the reality of your status of sonship. Our opening text also states clearly that neither tribulati...

January 14. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9) Our theme verse for today is a profound description of who God has made us to be: we’re chosen, royal and peculiar. Chosen to be God’s expression of righteousness and the manifestation of His glory in the earth. It means therefore that we’re God’s best created to manifest the God-life wherever we go; we’re not victims but God’s best. But most believers don’t understand this reality, they live their lives below God’s expectations. Maybe your life has been that o...

January 13. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4) Today while studying the Bible, I came across prophet Joel’s word of assurance to God’s people of old which is still applicable to us today. “Fear not, o Land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things” (Joel 2:21). You should be assured that your father has good plans for you this year which is why you will walk in perpetual victory this year. The devil knows that as a born again child of God, you’re equipped enough to live in dominion; by your present status as a God-kind, no manipulations of the devil can successfully stop or hinder you, hence, he will like to make use of his most potent tool – FEAR. Fear is a strong, uncontrollable, unpleasant, emotion caused by actual or perceived danger or threat; it is not only caused by actual danger, but perceived, imagined or unconfirmed danger. This is what has wrecked man...

January 12. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18) The Lord is doing something beautiful in our day. We’re in a new era in the move of the spirit; an era where the believer is unlimited through the grace of God; a period that tremendous things are happening. The glory of God is everywhere, His righteousness spreading like wild fire. Satan is not happy hence he fights back in wickedness but we’re not perturbed because what the grace of God is doing is far more greater than the wickedness of Satan. Through the grace of God, this year we will do more in expanding God’s kingdom. As we preach the Gospel, the kingdom of God will be established in the hearts of men. God is dispatching more people with the Gospel to lead more people to righteousness and environments an...

January 11. “He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it, Rehoboth, saying, “Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land” (Genesis 26:22 NN) Sometimes, people find themselves in situations that get them discouraged even when they have tried in several ways to get a change, nothing seems to happen. This is when a lot of people lose the confidence and enthusiasm to succeed. Things just happen to them that are so different from their expectation; they fight hard to remain in the game and keep themselves afloat in life, yet their result don’t line up with their expectation. If you find yourself in such a situation, know that it’s not time to relax and begin to complain, instead you should go deep in the word to condition your heart for success. You must l...
