SPRING BOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

      
                                             January 27.
“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray younder”
(Matthew 26: 36)
When you understand the importance and higher purposes of prayer, you’ll always be willing to pray. It is very important for every believer to spend time to pray with, or in, the spirit; that is praying in tongues. That is how to prepare yourself for what is ahead. For you to start 2019 well and also end it on a glorious note, it must be in the place of prayer. One of the beautiful things the Holy spirit has done in our lives as God’s children is to give us the ability to speak in other tongues.
In John 16:13, Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak: and he shall shew you things to come”. It means that every child of God ought to live perpetually in the leading of the spirit and you should never be in the dark as it concerns your future
When you pray in tongues, it’s an opportune moment to receive divine guidance and direction of the Holy spirit concerning your life. When you speak in tongues, the utterances aren’t man-made but of God because it is the spirit in you that’s speaking: “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him: howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2).
When you pray in tongues, you’re in fellowship with the Father; it also helps you to stir up the power of God resident in your spirit. Praying in tongues will keep you “fit” spiritually and also make you responsive to the guidance and prompting of the spirit.
Your life will not be full of negative surprises if you’re a man or a women of prayer. Never you be too busy or lazy to prepare yourself now prayerfully for the tasks ahead of you this year. Prayer is one of the secrets of a stress-free life of consistent victory and progress. Don’t be like some who are only compelled to pray when they face crises in life. Your earnest heartfelt, continued and fervent prayer will cause a release of God’s power in you that will produce unending victories. Observe the attitude of Jesus in our theme verse and get yourself prepared for a glorious 2019.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for your presence in my life. I thank you also for the opportunity and privilege of prayer and the release of your power upon my life, in Jesus name- Amen.

February 18. “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working)” (James 5:16 Amp) The happenings in our environments and the world over calls for our importunity in prayer. Out of ignorance a lot of people are blaming God for certain occurrences in their lives. But if things must change in the direction of God’s original plans and purposes, then we must keep praying.
