SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
January 17.
“But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22)
There’s a picture painted in the book of Habakkuk 3:17-19 that’s very instructive, it says, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom; neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation”. You’ve got to understand that if you’re a child of God, you are not a victim! The prophet in the above verses of the scripture describes a dire situation, yet he chosed to rejoice in the Lord all the same. It shows that even though there was a matter, the prophet wasn’t moved by what he saw, felt or perceived.I’m often amazed of how some believers easily give up and succumb to life’s issues. Also there’s so much negative information in the world today, and this has instilled fear in the hearts of those who are not rooted and grounded in the word.
But the attitude of the prophet in Habakkuk 3:17-19should also be our attitude as well because the story is not complete until you’ve won. Things may not be going the way you expect at the beginning but don’t despair. You have to stand your ground in faith, irrespective of the challenges because at the end, you’ll come out victorious. This year you must refuse to give up or give in to the pressure of life: Reiterate your trust in God by giving His word the right place in your life.
Talking about hopeless situation, Paul and Silas rightly comes to mind as they huddled in chains in the dark dungeon of that maximum – security of the Roman prison. Instead of complaining and cringing in fear and hopelessness, they decided to praise God and His power was brought to bear in their situation (Acts 16:23-36).
Again, one of the ways to prevail in dire situation is to be quick to act on the word of God; never be hesitant or delay to act on God’s word. Most people when faced with dire situations instead of acting swiftly on the word of God tend to rationalize the instruction. Don’t be reluctant when it comes to acting on God’s word. Instead of feeling bad, act your faith at every given opportunity and see yourself accomplishing great and bigger things.

WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
We believe there is a void in every person that only a relationship with God can fill. We’re not referring to finding religion or joining a particular church we are referring to having a relationship with your heavenly father through his son Jesus Christ. We believe that knowing him is the source of true peace and fulfillment in life we encourage you to pray thus: Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose from the dead I hereby confess you as my lord and savior. I receive the life of God into my spirit and now am born again.
Thank you lord Jesus for the new life I have now in you. In Jesus name – amen
