SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

                                     
          Jenuary 30.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”
(1 Corinthians 15:58)

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is a Gospel of light. No wonder Jesus rightly declared that those who follow Him shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). Jesus’ statement in that verse of the scripture is very instructive as it provides us with an understanding of the benefits of walking with Him or following Him. To have His light is to believe and do his word; that’s how to follow. You cannot say you’re following Him when you don’t believe and do His word.
When you believe and you’re addicted to doing His word, you can never be stranded or confuse in life; you cannot experience darkness. This is the understanding David had when he said “The entrance of thy word giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130).
When you see people tossed back and forth in life, it shows that they lack the word of God in them because the word of God is what gives you stability in life. You see, God’s desire for His children is that they be steadfast, stable, consistent and firm in faith. And the word of God is what brings that stability and balance in a believer’s life.
There are some people who are very good in starting things; their attitude at the beginning of the year looks assuring. But you’ll be surprise that the same people wouldn’t show same enthusiasm as the year goes – they lose focus; they lose steam; they lose apathy. To become a stable person you have to become stable in the word and you wont be easily moved and dissuaded from the faith by what you see and hear. Those who run their lives on the basis of their emotions and experiences are easily tossed away from their faith.
If you are going to be successful in life, you must believe with all your heart that the word of God is what will give you light and direction, and it is that which holds the solution to every problem. Establish your life on the word of God and you’ll be unshaken and firm on your way to success.

PRAYER: 
Dear Father, I thank you for your light that directs my life. I refuse to worry; I’m stable in my faith, the word of God is effective in my life producing results, in Jesus name – Amen.
