SPRINGBOARD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

“And Jesus, said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God”
(Luke 9:62).
A ‘touchstone’ is something that provides a standard against which other things are compared or judged. It is a reference point, a basis which other things can be evaluated. A lot of believers are unable to stay on course in pursuit of their God-given assignment because they’re easily distracted. In Paul’s admonition to the brethren in the church at Corinth he said, “Not that we (have audacity to) venture to class (even to) compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonies for themselves. However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely”(2 Corinthians 10:12 Amp).
Apostle Paul is saying that when people begin to measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they’re behaving unwisely. This is what causes distraction most of the time. So if men shouldn’t be our touchstone, what then should be our touchstone? Our genuine reference point for measuring our success is our God-given assignment.
The Living Bible Translation of what Jesus said is our theme verse explains to us of the danger of allowing yourself to be distracted while pursuing your God-given assignment. It says, “Any man who lets himself be distracted from the work I planned for him is not fit for the kingdom.” In the light of the above verse of the scripture, nobody’s work or achievement should intimidate you but be rather inspired to pursue what God has called you to accomplish for Him.
A distraction is an obstacle to attention; it’s that lingering concern that takes away your focus from what really matters. Stop making excuses, keep your focus on the goal. Envying another person’s assignment will cause your present moment ability to suffer damage. Don’t be like Elijah who indulged himself in comparing his performance with others and missed the mark of his calling (I Kings 19:10-16). Be like Paul who kept his focus and was able to say, “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:2). Never you allow the praises of men sway you out of the high point of your existence.

WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
We believe there is a void in every person that only a relationship with God can fill. We’re not referring to finding religion or joining a particular church we are referring to having a relationship with your heavenly father through his son Jesus Christ. We believe that knowing him is the source of true peace and fulfillment in life we encourage you to pray thus: Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose from the dead I hereby confess you as my lord and savior. I receive the life of God into my spirit and now am born again.
Thank you lord Jesus for the new life I have now in you. In Jesus name – amen
