“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31).
When a man hears the Gospel, believes it, he is saved and being saved mean that such a person has been reconciled back to the father. He now has peace and access to all that the kingdom of God has to offer. Remember mankind became estranged from God his creator through Adams disobedience. But today anyone who hears and believes the Gospel is reconciled back to God; has his relationship with God restored (the Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ) (I Corinthians 15:1-4).The above claim is what our today’s theme verse talks about. It reveals that the messages of the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John)are messages given for a man to hear and be born again but there’s more to being born again. God’s desire is to have all men saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:4).
The word knowledge in the above verse of the Bible isn’t dealing with general knowledge or knowledge of science (Greek: “Gnosis”) but it is referring to absolute knowledge that comes through revelation and relationship with the Father; the Greek word is “epignosis”. So believing is a process of possession; when you believe, what you believe settles in your spirit, it will then move from what you believe to something you know – something you possess. That is why John by revelation said, “These things have I written unto you that believe (the believer) on the name of the son of God that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life…” (I John 5:13).
When a believer knows about what he has, at that point, it can never be taken from him. So the believer is not just a believer but now one who has possession; a holder. That is why for a believer to truly enjoy all that has been made available to him, he must have accurate and comprehensive knowledge of the realities of Christianity and also be established in them.
Apostle Peter speaking in this line said, “wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth” (2 Peter 1:12). Meaning that the success of the believer in his Christian walk is to the degree of his awareness and establishment in the present truth. You’ve got to have the ‘epignosis’ (precise and accurate knowledge of your personality and abilities in Christ. It is revelation granted you through study and meditation). So knowledge is the key to succeeding in the kingdom of God.

WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
WE PASSIONATELY CARE ABOUT YOU
We believe there is a void in every person that only a relationship with God can fill. We’re not referring to finding religion or joining a particular church we are referring to having a relationship with your heavenly father through his son Jesus Christ. We believe that knowing him is the source of true peace and fulfillment in life we encourage you to pray thus: Jesus, I believe you died for me and rose from the dead I hereby confess you as my lord and savior. I receive the life of God into my spirit and now am born again.
Thank you lord Jesus for the new life I have now in you. In Jesus name – amen
